Dr. Wendy Mullen, Professor of Music, is Music Theatre and Vocal Coordinator at 成年人深夜福利在线观看 Technological University. Dr. Mullen is well-versed in musical theatre styles, having performed several leading roles, directed a thriving scenes program for fifteen years, and music directed 15 productions. The versatile soprano has performed nationally and internationally and has been a featured soloist with the Knoxville Symphony, Knoxville Chamber Orchestra, Johnson City Symphony, and the Macon Symphony. As a researcher, Dr. Mullen focuses upon the unusual artistic life of the prisoners in the WWII concentration camp of Terez铆n and specifically the vocal compositions of Viktor Ullmann. In addition, Dr. Mullen is an accomplished violist who has been a member of numerous professional orchestras. An active member of the National Association of Teachers of Singing, she has held leadership positions at the chapter, regional and national levels. She served as Vocal Coordinator, Interim Chair, and Provost Fellow at Georgia College in Milledgeville, Georgia, and the Director of the School of Music at 成年人深夜福利在线观看 Tech. A native of Kingsport, 成年人深夜福利在线观看, Dr. Mullen received her Doctorate in Voice Performance at Arizona State University and her Master and Bachelor of Music degrees in Voice Performance from The University of 成年人深夜福利在线观看, Knoxville. She is thrilled to be working with this talented cast and band in one of her most beloved musicals.

OUR TOWN 

Directed by Prudence van Aalten 

Prudence van Aalten received a Bachelor of Science with Honors in Theatre from Skidmore College in Saratoga Springs, New York. After graduation, Prudence moved to Los Angeles where she continued studying Acting at Improv Olympic, The Larry Moss Studio and The Beverly Hills Playhouse. Prudence then moved to NYC and received a Professional Certificate in the Meisner Acting Technique at The William Esper Studio with Bill Esper.

After graduating from The William Esper Studio, Prudence continued to study and work with some of the leading theater artists working today, including Tony Greco, Tony Award nominee Betsy Aidem and Tony Award winner Eve Ensler. She worked at the world renowned theater St. Ann鈥檚 Warehouse in Brooklyn for 8 years and acted in many shows Off Off Broadway, and also Off Broadway with The Women鈥檚 Project Theatre. She co-created, co-wrote and co-directed her own comedy show called Prudence and Lyndsay鈥檚 Favorite Things at Cornelia Street Cafe in Greenwich Village. Prudence also produced and curated Until The Violence Stops: Women鈥檚 Film Festival for Eve Ensler鈥檚 organization VDAY. Prudence鈥檚 film work also includes working with M. Night Shyamalan on his 鈥淢y Life鈥� American Express commercial which premiered during the Academy Awards.

Prudence has been teaching Intro to Theatre at 成年人深夜福利在线观看 Tech since 2014, and now teaches Acting I and Advanced Acting as well. She co-wrote the textbook, 鈥淪uit the Action to The Word, A Project Based Introduction to Theatre 鈥� with her colleagues here at TN Tech. As a member of The Tech Players at The Backdoor Playhouse, she has acted in several shows including Steve Yockey's Pluto directed Witch by Jen Silverman in 2024 and the tenth anniversary of Eve Ensler's The Vagina Monologues in 2017. Prudence is an active member of the local theater community working with Cookeville Theatre Company and Storyteller Improv Group. She has been in several shows at Cookeville Performing Arts Center including Rabbit Hole by David Lindsay-Abaire, Edward Albee's At Home at The Zoo and the play Relatively Speaking written by Ethan Coen, Elaine May and Woody Allen. Prudence just came back from NYC premiering Laura Holloway鈥檚 new play, The Kitchen. She would like to thank her husband Dax and their girls, Lola and Vera, for their support. Eleni Fragopoulos brings over 40 years of theatrical experience to her teaching and directing. She holds a Bachelor of Arts in Theatre from the University of 成年人深夜福利在线观看, a Master of Arts in Education with a focus on Curriculum and Instruction from TN Tech, and a Master of Arts in Theatre Education from the University of Northern Colorado.

A passionate educator and artist, Eleni has taught as adjunct faculty at TN Tech for 12 years. Throughout her teaching career in and outside of Tech, she has taught many classes, including Introduction to Theatre, Theatre History, acting, directing, and all aspects of technical theatre, including set design, sound, lighting, costumes, props, and marketing. She co-authored a university-level textbook for Introduction to Theatre classes. She continues to refine her expertise through ongoing involvement in theatre, ensuring her students benefit from her evolving knowledge.

Eleni's extensive career includes directing and performing in musicals, Shakespearean works, and dramatic and comedic plays. In her younger years, she appeared in an independent film and several commercials, but her true passion lies on the stage. Her dedication to fostering a love for theatre in her students, from cultivating appreciation to inspiring professional pursuits, is the cornerstone of her teaching philosophy.

Eleni strives to create a dynamic learning environment where students can explore their creativity, develop their talents, and connect with the transformative power of theatre.
